Graham Remington was born on January 3rd, 1910 in Baltimore, Maryland. His father, Randolph Remington worked for United Steam Industries, pioneering steam technology in the departments of transportation and weapons. His mother Margaret Remington worked as a nurse at the local Baltimore hospital, specializing in burn victims. The family was wealthy, but modest. Shortly after Graham’s 10th birthday, his father became the chief administrator of USI and received a considerable raise in salary.
Graham was raised comfortably in his Baltimore home until the age of 15 when tragedy struck the Remington family. Randolph and Margaret were on their way home from a local opera when they were in a hit and run car crash with a intoxicated driver. The car was cleaved in two by a street pole and the two died from impact trauma. Remington was devastated.
